Walk For Mother Earth 2015

This event is being organized by Bobby C. Billie -- Spiritual Leader and Clan Leader, Council of the Original Miccosukee Simanolee Nation Aboriginal Peoples.  Love The Everglades Movement is honored to assist in the event planning.

March 28 - Public Check-in and Setup Campsite at Trail Lakes Campground
March 29 - Walk Day 1 - Opening Ceremony
March 30 - Walk Day 2
March 31 - Walk Day 3
April 1 - Walk Day 4
April 2 - Walk Day 5 - Closing Ceremony

Camping Site:
Trail Lakes Campground, 40904 Tamiami Trail E., Ochopee, FL -- (239) 695-2275

This event is a 75 mile journey along the Tamiami Trail from Naples to Miami.

We welcome everyone to participate.  The walk will cover 15 miles every day, with regular rest breaks every 5 miles, including meals and refreshments.

Along the way, we will be learning about the impact that the River of Grass Greenway -- an asphalt bike path -- will have on important ecosystems, local businesses, indigenous communities, historical sites, and spirituality.

This page will be updated very soon with more information, so please come back often to stay aware of the progress of our event planning, and how you can contribute.

Go to the Facebook Event page if you want to participate in the discussions being posted to the page:

***** This is a peaceful, non-violent direct action.
***** NO alcohol and NO illegal drug-use at this event.
