LTEM Summer Symposium 2014
Objective
Love The Everglades Movement (LTEM) will be working with activists and community organizations to create an educational conference, airboat tour of WCA-3A, and action planning, to contribute to the goals of networking between communities and information-sharing on environmental, political, social, and spiritual concerns regarding Everglades Restoration.
LTEM will also publish all presentations and discussions through a variety of media platforms so that this information will contribute to the global discussion on Everglades Matters – because the Everglades matters.

Agenda
The LTEM Summer Symposium 2014 program is inspired by the concept of the Circle of Life -- a philosophy that is found in a variety of indigenous societies from around the world. We are concerned with the integrity and vitality of the Circle, and the fundamental element of Water which unites us all. We are using this symbol to guide our work in a holistic manner.
Therefore, the presentations will bring information and communities from the East, North, West, South, and Center of the Everglades together for this unique, action-oriented event.
FYI -- Lunch will be scheduled midway through the presentations.
Schedule for Day 1 is provided below.

VIP Everglades Airboat Excursion
CAPACITY REACHED -- NO MORE REGISTRATIONS FOR AIRBOAT RIDES
STANDBY ONLY
STANDBY ONLY
The VIP Everglades Excursion is an educational trip designed to facilitate a relationship with the natural environment of the Florida Everglades and networking between participants. We will also be providing information from a scientific, political, and Miccosukee cultural perspective about the eco-system. Once our guests arrive at the rendezvous point, the excursion will be about two hours long, and will primarily consist of an airboat journey where we visit various tree islands in Water Conservation Area 3A -- a menagerie consisting of rescued animals, and a traditional Miccosukee village. Our objective is to highlight the environmental and political challenges inhibiting Everglades Restoration and to suggest solutions and items for action. This is not tourism. We want our message to continue and live on in the world through concerned action, art, educational programs, policy initiatives, etc.
NEARBY HOTELS
Some people have been asking about accommodations nearby. Here's a list of some hotels in the area. We have probably stayed at all of them at one time or another; and the list is not comprehensive. We just did a quick search and this is what turned up. We do not have any arrangements with them. Good luck.
