- LOVE THE EVERGLADES MOVEMENT
- MICCOSUKEE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY (MEPA) -- the MEPA is comprised of Water Resources, Fish & Wildlife, and Real Estate Services / Land Management; MEPA will be educating the public on the scope of their activities through printed and visual material; interact directly with the staff, and walk away with awesome Miccosukee swag.
- FIU GLOBAL INDIGENOUS GROUP -- All Florida International University students are welcome to join the “Global Indigenous Group” GIG, a student-led organization of Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples who seek to celebrate and share global Indigenous heritages, sovereignties, memories, and knowledges. GIG is an integral part of the FIU Global Indigenous Forum. GIG is a place for Indigenous students to feel welcome on the FIU campus, to express their identities and to gain leadership experience. GIG sponsors numerous cultural performances, museum exhibits, guest speakers. We also work to raise awareness of issues that Indigenous peoples face around the world and we advocate for the social and communal development of Indigenous communities. Our group also works to support and network with Indigenous students, professors, and professionals. GIG honors the various traditions of our diverse ancestors and their relationships to each other, our Mother Earth, and the Cosmos-Spirit World.
- FIU GLOBAL INDIGENOUS FORUM -- The mission of the “Global Indigenous Forum” is to bring global Indigenous issues, voices and awareness to the Florida International University campus and world community through activities and academic programs. Our vision is for FIU to be known as a welcoming institution for Indigenous faculty, staff, students and Indigenous peoples from local, regional and worldwide communities. Recognizing our common values for land, territory, cultural preservation, a good life, and all our relations, through engaged partnerships and collaborations our mutual efforts focus on the issues and perspectives of Indigenous peoples locally and worldwide. Through GIF efforts FIU will be recognized globally as a place for Indigenous issues to be openly and fairly discussed through courses, dialogs, conferences, media, exhibits, research publications, and engaged action oriented activities.
- WELL OF ANCIENT MYSTERIES -- Ishmael Bermudez will be sharing water that comes directly from the Well of Ancient Mysteries. He will also be telling stories about the struggle to protect the sacred site from development, and many of the indigenous causes that he supports.
- SIERRA CLUB MIAMI -- Their Mission: To protect and enjoy the natural places in South Florida, teach others to understand and respect the fragile environment in which we live and to practice and promote the responsible use of South Florida's ecosystems and resources.
- ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE IN EVERGLADES, INC. (AIRIE) -- The AIRIE Table will have samples of work by AIRIE Fellows, and information on events and exhibitions coming up this season. They will also have sign-up sheet for their newsletter and information on becoming a member. Artist in Residence in Everglades, Inc. (AIRIE) supports and enhances the arts and cultural heritage of the Everglades through an artist-in-residence program, exhibitions and public outreach programs. AIRIE seeks to use the creative expression of artists, writers, composers and performers, to connect visitors and residents of South Florida to the importance of this unique subtropical wilderness. With a growing understanding of the implications of the anthropocene and climate change, AIRIE’s support of artists as they work in and learn about this bellwether ecosystem is more important than ever. The new AIRIE Nest gallery, located in the Everglades National Park’s Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center, serves as a public exhibition space for works by AIRIE Fellows. With four to six exhibitions a year, the 250,000 annual visitors to the Park, now have the creative lens of an artist shape their first impression of the Everglades.
- URBAN PARADISE GUILD
- TIM CANOVA --
- MDC EARTH ETHICS INSTITUTE --
- IMAGINE OUR FLORIDA, INC. -- Imagine Our Florida is bringing people together in a shared vision to preserve and protect Florida’s wildlife, habitat and ecosystem. We are accomplishing this via science-based education and the development of appreciation and respect for the natural world and our place within it. Using our custom designed lesson plans, IOF volunteers encourage critical thinking through exploration and discovery. We make it a fun, hands-on experience while showing people of all ages how to put away their phones and connect with Florida’s wildlife and wild spaces. Stop by our table, check out the bear poop, and learn about the interdependence between bears and their forest homes. Discover how humans can upset the balance and what you can do to help. When each of us does our part, no matter how big or small, we can all begin to Imagine Our Florida where we peacefully coexist with our native wild friends.
- EVERGLADES COOPERATIVE INVASIVE SPECIES MANAGEMENT AREA (ECISMA) -- ECISMA is an interagency partnership that manages, researches, and educates about invasive species across South Florida. The Everglades CISMA contains six major partners plus numerous cooperators including federal, state, and local government agencies, universities, tribes, and nonprofit organizations. The Everglades CISMA brings together university and agency scientists to collaborate and share research on invasive plants and animals. The Everglades CISMA produces outreach materials and communicates to the public through presentations, exhibits, direct mailings, and social media. Audiences include residents in targeted areas, field workers who are likely to detect invasive species, students, and environmental decision makers.

U.S.-managed waters are among the most extensive national waters in the world, and Oceana is dedicated to making sure those waters are healthy and productive for generations to come. Oceana’s campaigns utilize grassroots organizing, in-house scientific experts and litigators, strategic communications, and political engagement to strengthen and maintain responsible fishery management practices, prevent climate change and pollution, prevent seafood fraud, and reduce illegal and unregulated fishing.
- REBECCA GUTIERREZ -- Donating massage therapy services to symposium attendees.
- 350 SOUTH FLORIDA -- The members of “350 South Florida” organize around climate change issues locally, and we advance the goals of the international movement 350.org in the South Florida region. We make noise about a very important number. Not “305” and not “360.” Three Hundred Fifty. Too much carbon pollution is the problem. The number “350” refers to what scientists consider a safe level of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. That level was last measured in 1988. In 2013, the level surpassed 400 ppm (parts per million)–higher than any time in the past 1 million years. All greenhouse gases continue to rise at alarming rates, and this trend must be reversed. Join us in the fight of the century.
