FILMGATE 2014

We are proud to partner with Filmgate 2014 (Link) and the Indie Film Club Miami to present 2 components of an overall Interactive Media Conference that pushed the boundaries of storytelling.


The Eco Doc Master Class consisted of 26 pre-selected filmmakers who participated in a 3-day workshop with Cinematographer Philip Bloom.  The culmination of the experience was a Field Trip into the Florida Everglades organized by yours truly, the Love The Everglades Movement!

"A BROKEN LAND" Philip Bloom Eco Doc Master Class from Josef Rios on Vimeo.

This was a collaboration effort for "Team 3 Eco Doc" shot entirely on location on the Canon C300, C100, 5D mark III with 24-70mm, 24-105mm, 70-200mm lenses at The Everglades Miami, Florida US.
We took part of Phillip Bloom Master Class put on by Filmgate Interactive Miami. We were challenged to Shoot and edit a Short Eco Doc in two days in the Everglades with special access to the Miccosukee Tribe and other specialists.

This video was a collaboration of 5 filmmakers in a Masters Workshop by Philip Bloom. The subject was The Everglades and the impact on the Miccosukee Tribe that call the Everglades home. We split the editing into 2 teams and shared the footage. This is my personal take on what I saw, heard and felt.
